Marine Engineering Consultants, an onsite marine tenant of The Yard Brisbane, were the winning recipients of the 2019 Most Innovative Commercial Marine Product of the Year for its Heart Island project. This unique, purpose-built helicopter pontoon provides a luxury reef experience. The pontoon has the capability to housefly in guests for day trips to Hardy Reef, and provides a comfortable guest lounge in a custom-built saloon area. The project won the award for its truly innovative and functional design. Not to mention, the pontoon is also self-sustaining with wind and solar power generation, with on-board water maker storage capacity for all waste.

Previously known as Schooner XXXX, Adix came to The Yard Brisbane for its 25-year survey. This superyacht has received numerous refits, and can comfortably accommodate up to ten guests. This vessel has been run by the same Australian Captain for 30 years, and he has chosen to conduct his 5th year 100A1 Lloyds survey at The Yard Brisbane. Originally from the United Kingdom, this vessel ventured south for the Americas Cup in New Zealand. The Yard Brisbane will be fulfilling the following projects: painting, rig servicing, timber work, steel fabrication, construction of the new tender, prop and shaft work, rudder pull, and much more.

With areas of rust, decay, and corrosion, The Yard Brisbane quickly got to work restoring this 20-year-old vessel. From reviving hinges and gates, to repairing broken bolts and hatches, The Yard Brisbane was able to cosmetically and functionally bring this tug back to life. In terms of mechanical labour, the fuel tank was also inspected, cleaned, and revitalized. Other corroded areas like the deckhouse, hull, and railings were also inspected and repaired.

The team at CMA Boat Builders consists of certified welders, trade qualified boat builders, engineers, and an in-house design team. Examples of vessels include ferries, dive or snorkelling, crew transfer, patrol, pilot vessels, multi-purpose barges, and more. The CMA Boat Builders team is also capable of refit, repair, and repowering. Featured in their case study is their Ocean Explorer, Cat Roses III, Gem of the Sounds and Maggie Cat.
